Our Countywide Targeted Voter Registration Project is well underway. We are holding registrations at targeted stores, churches, and schools in Montgomery. Our next initiative is to get further into the schools, including homeschooling, private schools, and civics classes. We are also planning trips to assisted living and nursing homes to assist those residents in registering and absentee voting.

Another aspect of the project is the “Get Out The Vote” initiative. Voter Registration has no basis unless the participants actually vote. This committee is starting to work telephone banks and mailings to assist voters in locating their designated voting place and answer questions regarding voting dates and deadlines for absentee voting.
